About Department

The electrical engineering department came into existence with the establishment of the Iqra National University Peshawar in 2010. It is one of the largest departments in the University with an average number of students being approximately 500, 10% of whom are in the graduate program. The department provides four-year undergraduate programs accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in Power Systems, Communication Systems and Electronics. The department also offers bachelor of technology (B-Tech) program. B-Tech program combines rigorous training in technological fundamentals and applications. EE department offers Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in the following specializations
  1. Power Systems
  2. Communication Systems
  3. Control System
  4. Digital Signal Processing
  5. Image Processing
The EE department also offers PhD program in the following specializations
  1. Communication Systems
  2. Digital Signal Processing
  3. Image Processing
The department has about 21 full-_me faculty members in 5 specialized areas of research. Additionally, a pool of experienced engineers and technicians maintain 9 laboratories in the department.

Vision:

The Department of electrical engineering will emerge gradually by producing competent engineers and researchers for promising career in industry and academia in order to contribute towards nation building.

Mission:

The mission of the Electrical engineering department is to provide students with a supportive environment which facilitates learning to develop concrete solution for complex engineering problems. Our graduates will have technical competence, solid analytical skills and critical thinking, both theoretically and practically in advance technological and socio-economic environment.
